ONICO ranks among Poland’s most mediagenic brands

The Press magazine and “PRESS-SERVICE Monitoring Mediów”, a media monitoring service, have revealed the 2018 Top Brands, the largest brand ranking for the most mediagenic brands in Poland. This year’s eleventh instalment of the survey covers an impressive number of 500 brands across 50 industries.

And the ONICO brand is among them, ranked 128th in the overall listing and 9th in the power sector listing!

The report was based on press, online and social media content published over the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018; a total of over 52 million communications were reviewed: 1 million press texts, 5 million online texts and a hefty number of 46 million social media posts. This shows the ever-increasing power of social media as a brand-building tool, which is continuously utilised by ONICO to engage with its audiences.

ONICO is the only wholly privately-owned company in the pack that made it to the top 10 in the ENERGY AND FUELS sector ranking. The top spot on the sector ranking was taken by the energy giant PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, which also claimed the lead in the overall ranking.

The innovative methodology, compared to the previous years, is also worth noting; in addition to factors such as the number of mentions about a brand based on media consumption data (Impact Index), this new approach considers the tone of those mentions broken down into shares of positive, neutral and negative publications in the overall media coverage of a brand. For the ONICO brand, this new variable, or the ‘Sentiment Index’ as researchers call it, is 1.89. This means that audiences not only receive many communications about our company (Impact Index: 384,304,693), but also rate them positively for the most part.
