ONICO Gdynia Half-marathon 2018 is behind us!

Last Sunday ONICO Gdynia Halfmarathon 2018 took place on the beautiful Gdynia coast. Negative air temperature did not scared real running enthusiasts, because over 5,900 competitors from 25 countries around the world took part in the opening race of the Polish Marathon Half-marathons. The growing popularity of the run results from the rank of this "sporting holiday" because ONICO Gdynia Półmaraton is played as the IAAF Bronze Label Road Race, thus being in the group of the most important half-marathons in the world.

Thanks to this, real stars of the semi-royal distance came to Gdynia, such as the young and promising Ben Chelimo from Uganda or the experienced Kenyan Ruth Matebo. There were also children who took off already on Saturday, and on Sunday they could cheer on their parents and other runners taking part in relay or full-range races. This doping, especially on the run on ul. Świętojańska, was appreciated by Agnieszka Gortel, multiple Polish champion at the half-marathon distance, who finished the Sunday run in fifth place:

"I would like to thank the fans for their loud doping along the route. It was really cold today, but the supporters and the sun shining in Gdynia helped a lot with the maximum strength. "

The supporters' activities were not limited only to doping, because they generously supported the collection of the ONICO Foundation for the benefit of the seven-year-old Szymon, a protégé of the care and treatment institution in Bacików Średni. We will inform you about the result of the collection soon, but after the number of donors, we believe in the success of the action!

We are proud that we can be the title sponsor of a great sporting event that attracts enthusiasts from around the world. We believe that the sponsorship of great sports ventures such as ONICO Gdynia Półmaraton is not only a great opportunity to build a positive brand image, but also a part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
